Did You Develop Ovarian Cancer, Tubal Cancer, or Pelvic  Cancer After Using Talcum Powder?

You Could Be Due Compensation!!

Talc is made up mostly of magnesium, silicon and oxygen, which, when ground into a powder form, can absorb moisture. For decades, talcum powder has been widely used to help keep skin dry and to prevent irritation and rashes. But when used on or near the genitals, particles can travel into the ovaries and remain there for years, causing inflammation and leading to the growth of cancer cells.

In fact, a study by a Harvard doctor estimates that talc in hygiene products may be a contributing factor in the development of ovarian cancer in as many as 10,000 women each year.

Despite the scientific evidence, talcum powder continued to be used by Johnson & Johnson, unregulated and without any warning from the manufacturer.

Many patients have reported experiencing serious problems, including;

  • Ovarian Cancer
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Urinary Symptoms
  • Other Complications

In late February 2016, a Missouri jury weighed in clearly and strongly on the matter. It ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $72 million to the family of a 62-year-old Alabama woman who died last year of ovarian cancer allegedly caused by years of using the company’s talc-based products. In the verdict, jurors in the circuit court of St. Louis awarded the family of Jacqueline Fox $10 million of actual damages and $62 million of punitive damages, according to the family's lawyers and court records.

The verdict is the first by a U.S. jury to award damages over the claims, the lawyers said.

Jurors found Johnson & Johnson liable for fraud, negligence and conspiracy, the family's lawyers said. Deliberations lasted four hours, following a three-week trial.

Jere Beasley, a lawyer for Fox's family, said Johnson & Johnson "knew as far back as the 1980s of the risk," and yet resorted to "lying to the public, lying to the regulatory agencies."

Johnson & Johnson currently faces several hundred lawsuits claiming that it, in an effort to boost sales, failed for decades to warn consumers that its talc-based products could cause cancer.
